Research Shows Trees Reduce Deaths

An article published in the Washington Post, February 12, 2023 discusses the effects of planting trees on the health of the residents.  As discussed in the article, The more trees planted in a neighborhood, the longer people live, according to a recent study led by U.S. Forest Service researchers out of Portland, Ore. The 2022 Great Tree Hunt contest is over but the Tree Council is still interested in learning of any especially large trees. If you come across a large tree, measure its circumference at 4-feet above the ground, take a photo of the tree with yourself in the picture, and email the photo and your information to marrjm@gmail.com.
